Integration Error: ERROR (4007) Invalid Lesson Hook, no lesson found.

Your LMS may have a slightly different name, but commonly this will be referred to as a Course Hook.

  • This link may have been hidden from students in previous semesters since they use the individual lesson links. 
  • You should be redirected to your SI Course Dashboard. After this, try clicking on the lesson link. If you were redirected to your Course dashboard again, you have fixed the broken link. If you are still experiencing an error, move on to step 2. 

You should not see error 4007 by selecting this link. You will either be directed to the SI course Dashboard or a different error.

2. Verify that the Course Hook is set up correctly.

Select your LMS to review the specific instructions related to this step:

  • Canvas: Check that the Course Hook is in the App you created to link SI Cloud and your Canvas Course in the Custom Fields section.
  • Blackboard: Check that the Course "Web Link" has the Course Hook in the Custom Parameters section in the Web link setup.
  • D2L/Brightspace: Check that the Course Hook is added to the Custom Parameters appropriately.
  • Moodle: Check that the Course Hook is in the Custom Parameters section in the External Tool setup.

If you used the Master Course Hook (course_hook=hol-mcourse-……. ) during setup:

  1. Select the link within the course, if you are directed to a course setup page try completing the course setup. If the course setup page does not redirect you to you SI Course Dashboard, reach out you your Account Representative.
  2. If the Course Hook link is giving you another error, see Integration Error: ERROR (4006) The given course hook is already associated to another course or Integration Error: ERROR 4009 Invalid course hook.

3. Verify that the Lesson Hooks are set up correctly.

Select your LMS to review the specific instructions related to this step:

  • Canvas: Check that the Lesson Hook is in the App you created to link SI Cloud and your Canvas Course in the Custom Fields section. Double check that the Lesson App is linked to the Assignment you created.
  • Blackboard: Check that the lesson "Web Link" has the Lesson Hook in the Custom Parameters section in the Web link setup.
  • D2L/Brightspace: Check that the Lesson Hook is added to the Custom Parameters appropriately. Double check that you have added the Lesson hooks to the Assignments correctly. 
  • Moodle: Check that the Lesson Hook is in the Custom Parameters section in the External Tool setup.

Once you have checked the settings on your Lesson Hooks, make sure to click on the link within your course. You should be redirected to your SI Course Dashboard. If you are still experiencing an error:

  1. Clear your cache and cookies for a time period longer than the last 24 hours.
  2. Delete the Lesson link you created and re-add it.
  3. If none of those steps have fixed the issue Contact your Regional Account Manager.

If you were redirected to your Course dashboard, you have fixed the broken link. If you are still experiencing the error, contact your Regional Account Manager.

When the issue is resolved, students will automatically be redirected straight into the lesson itself.
