Exploration Tab

The Exploration section is an overview of the scientific concepts relevant to the lesson's topic.

1. Exploration Overview Page

1.1. Enter the Exploration's Time Allocation.

This is how much time a student should expect to spend on the Exploration section. This field is mandatory.

1.2. Enter the lesson's Learning Objectives.

These are the things that a student should know by the time they complete the lesson. You can select "+Add Another Learning Objective" to add as many as you would like. Empty boxes must be deleted by selecting the "x" next to the box in order to save.

1.3. Add any Test Your Knowledge questions.

These are interactive-style (matching, ordering, categorization, labeling) questions that test the student’s incoming knowledge before completing the lesson.

1.4. Select the Pencil icon in the top right to edit any lesson information.

1.5. When you are done filling in the page content, select "Save" at the bottom of the page.

2. Exploration Page

2.1. Add the Exploration Name.

2.2. Click inside the box under "Exploration Page Content" to begin adding content.

2.4. The left side toolbar is used to add images, videos, and equations that are separate from content.

By hovering the cursor over the toolbar icons, a four-way arrow will appear that allows items to be dragged into the content page. Hovering the cursor over the bottom right of an icon displays a "+" sign that, when clicked, will automatically add that item to the content page. Refer to these instructions on adding images, videos, and equations.

2.5. Question Time (QT) questions can be added.

These are multiple choice or true/false questions that test the student on retention of information on each Exploration page.

2.6. After adding content, don't forget to select "Save."

2.7. Select the "Add a page" button along the left sidebar to continue adding pages and content.

2.8. Once your Exploration pages are complete and saved, select the Experimentation tab at the top.
